Raptor 1000 – Integrated DAC

The large instrument at the center is clearly inspired by an automotive dashboard that works as a VU meter. Like that one, our meter employs a stepper motor of those used on the automotive world. Differently from a commonly used galvanic VU meter, our guy has a circular extension of 270° and a ballistic behaviour driven by a true RMS / DC converter. The OLED display placed in the upper part of the instrument shows the current active input, the sampling frequency of the digital signals, the temperature of the power amplifier, the value of the mains power supply voltage. Under the hood there is a refined and powerful engine capable of 500w per channel. The volume control, fully passive, is made by means of a discrete network of precision resistors switched by high quality telecom relais that forms a 127 step stairway. This solution guarantees the best possible audio performance as well as consistent durability and stability over time. The D/A conversion is entrusted to one of the best and most appreciated DACs ever produced, the Texas PCM1794. App Android / iOS are available to remote control the Raptor.
